Every Saturday night, Based Comedy presents Comedy Underground in The Basement at HOTA, Home of the Arts. It’s a weekly showcase of hand-picked talent from all over the Australia and around the world. Big name acts, up-and-coming crushers and the wild, subversive and unique voices making waves in live comedy.

Saturday nights in The Basement are packed with 90 minutes of side splitting laughs, and fresh new line ups every week, as well as solo shows from some of our favourite touring acts so you can get a full dose of the best comedians in the country in the most intimate room for comedy in the city. Comedy Underground is the Gold Coast’s home of the very best live comedy.

Comedy Underground is presented by Based Comedy, HOTA and supported by the RADF. The Regional Arts Development Fund is a partnership between the Queensland Government and the City of Gold Coast Council to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland.
